Position Overview
We are seeking detail-oriented and reliable professionals to support high-volume financial claims processing operations within a secure, controlled environment. In this role, you will assist in the examination, verification, and processing of damaged U.S. currency, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance with established policies and procedures. This position combines analytical review, hands-on processing, and financial reconciliation responsibilities. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, the ability to follow structured processes, and experience working with sensitive materials or financial documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process assigned claims involving damaged or mutilated currency, typically of limited complexity
- Separate, sort, segregate, and reconstruct currency using established examination methods and procedures
- Identify denominations and authenticate genuine U.S. currency while distinguishing from counterfeit materials
- Apply applicable laws, regulations, and policies to determine eligibility for redemption and assess claim value
- Document findings thoroughly to support claim determinations and recommendations for disposition
- Present findings for independent verification and ensure accuracy of examined claims
- Verify examined claims by confirming counts, denominations, and supporting documentation
- Assign and track security materials, including controlled storage and identification systems
- Perform independent reviews of claims to ensure alignment between physical materials and documentation
- Maintain custody, control, and accountability of currency throughout examination, verification, and storage processes
- Balance and reconcile transactions, ensuring accurate accounting of all materials and activities
- Organize, batch, and prepare claims for payment processing and disbursement scheduling
- Prepare documentation and reports for certifying officials and maintain accurate case records
- Prepare adjudicated currency for secure destruction, including required documentation and reporting
- Support inventory control, storage, and transfer of materials in accordance with established procedures
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 6 years of professional experience OR Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to follow structured processes and procedures consistently
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- High level of integrity and accountability
- Ability to handle sensitive materials with discretion
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial operations, banking, claims processing, or cash handling
- Background in audit, compliance, reconciliation, or quality control
- Experience working in secure or highly regulated environments
- Familiarity with case management or transaction processing systems
Other Qualifications
- Frequent use of hands and arms; prolonged sitting may be required.
- Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment
- Ability to interpret instructions involving multiple abstract and concrete variables.
