Job Description – Deputy Project Manager (DPM)
Location: Emmitsburg, MD (On-site with episodic telework as approved)
Clearance: Public Trust (must be able to obtain and maintain)
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Pay Rate: $73,000/year
About the Role
The Deputy Project Manager (DPM) supports the PM in overseeing the FEMA NDEMU ISP Support contract and acts with full authority during the PM’s absence. This position plays a critical role in managing daily operations, tracking tasks, and ensuring program deliverables are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the PM in all aspects of contract execution, administration, and reporting.
- Coordinate daily operations, ensuring adherence to SOPs and contractual timelines.
- Track task progress, maintain documentation, and report updates to the PM.
- Assist in identifying process issues and recommending solutions to enhance program performance.
- Manage customer service quality for email, phone, and transcript processing.
- Ensure compliance with federal records management, Privacy Act, and IT security requirements.
- Facilitate training and onboarding for new personnel, ensuring readiness and compliance with FEMA security and IT policies.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in project management or program support.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Customer service experience in a remote/virtual environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal training or education programs.
- Familiarity with FEMA systems (ISDBS) and student service processes.
