Position Overview
The Senior Simulation Operator plays a critical role in supporting the Mission Simulation Center (MSC) at the Fires Center of Excellence (FCoE) by ensuring the effective planning, coordination, and execution of simulation-based training. This position is responsible for managing simulation systems, synchronizing training schedules, and enabling realistic, high-quality virtual training environments that support Soldier and leader development.
Working closely with course managers, instructors, and MSC leadership, the Senior Simulation Operator helps drive training efficiency, maximize simulator utilization, and ensure training events align with Army priorities. This role also contributes to forecasting future training requirements, analyzing throughput data, and improving the overall effectiveness of simulation-supported fire support training.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support simulation systems (CFFT III, VBS3) for fire support training events.
- Coordinate with instructors and course managers to develop and execute realistic training scenarios and support packages.
- Review G33 training schedules 60 days out, prioritize events, and resolve scheduling conflicts based on IMT priorities.
- Maintain and update the MSC training calendar and ensure accurate scheduling of all events.
- Track and report simulator usage, student throughput, and training trends (TS-MATS, SharePoint, reports).
- Provide weekly/monthly utilization reports and assist leadership with forecasting and planning.
- Ensure all required system access, certifications, and training records are maintained.
- Identify and report training or equipment deficiencies.
Qualifications
- Must have at least 3 years of experience as a Team Lead/Project Manager
- Must have at least a high school diploma and a minimum of (7) years of military experience and Fire Support operations and planning.
- Experience with military simulation systems (CFFT III, VBS3, or similar).
- Minimum of (1) year of experience supporting training exercise operating the CFFT III and (1) or more years of operating/maintaining an Immersive CFFT III system (AFSM, UTM, CASM)
- Minimum (1) year experience developing and executing functional vignettes for and supporting training exercise and operating the VBS3.
- Strong understanding of Army training environments and scheduling processes.
- Experience with data tracking, reporting, and coordination across teams.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Ability to interpret instructions involving multiple abstract and concrete variables.
