Simulation Operator – CFFT/VBS3 Simulation Technician

Position Overview
The Simulation Operator supports training operations at the Fires Center of Excellence Mission Simulation Center by assisting in the delivery of simulation-based training for fire support and mission command systems. This role focuses on operating and maintaining simulation platforms, supporting instructors during training events, and helping execute realistic training scenarios. The ideal candidate has foundational fire support experience, familiarity with simulation systems, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented training environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support the maintenance of CFFT III immersive simulators and VBS3 systems in support of scheduled Army training events
- Configure simulation environments, assist in scenario development, launch and manage exercises, and make real-time adjustments during execution
- Support classroom and hands-on training by assisting instructors, guiding trainees on system operation and training objectives, and supporting after-action reviews
- Serve as a role-player during training events by simulating battlefield entities such as pilots, commanders, fire support personnel, and intelligence assets, including supporting Close Air Support training through simulated communications
- Monitor training execution, document system usage and training data, and assist with collecting and organizing post-training feedback
- Perform routine system checks and assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, hardware installation, and software updates or patches
- Assist instructors and training developers with scenario development and updates to Programs of Instruction, lesson plans, and training support packages
- Support capability demonstrations, facility tours, and system briefings as needed
- Maintain simulation equipment and workspaces in a clean, organized, and operational condition
Qualifications
- Must have at least a High School diploma.
- At least (7) years of military or simulation center experience in Fire Support operations and planning.
- Minimum of (1) year of experience supporting training exercise operating the CFFT III and (1) or more years of operating/maintaining an Immersive CFFT III system (AFSM, UTM, CASM)
- Minimum (1) year experience developing and executing functional vignettes for and supporting training exercise and operating the VBS3.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Must have a government Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

- Ability to interpret instructions involving multiple abstract and concrete variables.
