We deliver solutions and critical support primarily to federal government agencies. We are seeking Junior and Senior Technical Writers to support a high-visibility initiative within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), contributing to workforce modernization efforts that impact healthcare delivery nationwide.
Position Summary
The Technical Writer is a documentation professional responsible for analyzing, developing, and standardizing federal healthcare position descriptions and functional statements used across VA facilities nationwide. This role supports the VHA EVOLV program and requires close collaboration with subject matter experts and senior government stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical writing skills, experience working in structured or regulated environments, and the ability to translate complex occupational requirements into clear, compliant documentation.
Duties and responsibilities include the following:

Analyze, write, and edit position descriptions (PDs) and functional statements for federal healthcare occupations in accordance with VA standards.

Review multiple versions of similar documents to identify core duties, required knowledge and skills, licensure requirements, and time allocations.

Consolidate duplicative or overlapping functions into standardized national documents (typically 6–8 pages in length) applicable across all VA facilities.

Conduct research to ensure occupational duties align with VA mission requirements, organizational structures, and functional frameworks.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) through meetings, working sessions, and document reviews to gather requirements and validate content.

Incorporate multiple rounds of feedback and edits while maintaining document accuracy, consistency, and version control.

Ensure all deliverables comply with the VA Style Guide, federal classification formatting standards, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.

Meet aggressive timelines in support of high-priority deliverables for senior VA leadership.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) required.
Experience:

Senior Technical Writer: Minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.

Junior Technical Writer: Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience supporting federal, healthcare, or highly regulated environments is strongly preferred.
Environment: High-visibility role supporting senior leadership within the Veterans Health Administration
