Systems Engineer II – National Simulation Center, Fort Gregg-Adams, VA
Specific tasks include:
- Conducts overall management coordination for all technical, networking, simulation, exercise design, and administrative support.
- Assists the Government in the design, development, delivery, and maintenance of simulation systems and tools, and exercises and training events.
- Provides strategic solutions for standardizing technology, technical documentation, and technical support models across the site(s).
- Attends training, seminars, conferences, exercise/experiment planning events, site surveys, and training events.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or a related field
- 2 years’ experience within the past five 5 years in planning advanced computer system architectures, supervising implementation of communication systems, and integration of computer systems and interfaces in distributed architectures
- 2 years’ experience within the past 5 years operating and maintaining infrastructures that include network engineering, Linux and Windows system administration, and storage engineering solutions
- At least 1 to 2 years’ experience with M&S support to training including systems JLCCTC, WARSIM, JDLM, ALOTT, and other systems as required
- Must have CompTIA Security+.
- 1 to 2 years simulation experience integrating logistical systems into the exercises and events
- Experience with Scenario development and performing analytical assessments of systems
- Knowledge, understanding, and experiencing using the JELC process
- Must possess and the ability to maintain Secret DoD Clearance.
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English

- Work requires frequent use of hands to finger, handle, feel and operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
- Frequent sitting for prolonged periods
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
- Work is performed in a fast pace is driven office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
- Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.
