System Support Specialist – McAllen, TX

Clearance Level: Public Trust (SF-85P+PS)
Compensation: $26.94/hour base + $4.93/hour fringe

About the Role
In McAllen, your role as System Support Specialist will involve supporting the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas. You’ll diagnose hardware/software issues, maintain networked PCs, and empower users with training and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide help-desk support through phone, email, and onsite visits
  • Install, configure, and test PCs, printers, and other peripherals
  • Deploy operating systems and application software
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshoot hardware/software problems, and arrange repairs
  • Coordinate LAN and telecom troubleshooting with infrastructure teams
  • Create user-focused documentation and deliver training sessions

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of direct PC/network support experience
  • Proficient with Windows OS, Microsoft Office, and common PC hardware
  • Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent oral and written communication; courteous phone etiquette
  • Eligible for SF-85P+PS (High-Risk Public Trust) clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automated litigation-support or imaging applications
  • DOJ office automation environment familiarity
  • Background in teaching or training computer applications
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
