System Support Specialist – Laredo, TX

Compensation: $27.75/hour base + $4.93/hour fringe

About the Role
As our System Support Specialist in Laredo, you’ll support the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas by providing expert onsite hardware, software, and network support. You’ll ensure uptime, troubleshoot complex issues, and coach users on best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer and resolve help-desk calls and emails; provide onsite support as needed
  • Install and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
  • Manage operating system and application installations
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose system failures; coordinate vendor repairs
  • Resolve LAN connectivity and telecom-related problems
  • Develop training materials and conduct user workshops

What We’re Looking For

  • Hands-on experience supporting end users remotely and onsite
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows OS and Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
  • Clear, patient communication style; great telephone manner
  • Ability to clear SF-85P+PS background check
  • Undergraduate degree in IT or related field preferred

Nice to Have

  • Litigation-support software or database application experience
  • Familiarity with DOJ office automation tools
  • Previous training or instructional experience
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
