MCIS Instructor I – US Army III Corps, Ft Bliss, TX

Specific tasks include:

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes individual MCIS and Simulation (puckster) training at echelons ranging from Squad to Corps.
  • Perform classroom setup, networking of systems and supporting simulations, and instruction on applicable mission command information systems.
  • Executes training on the system IAW Army standard Programs of Instruction (POI) following approved course instructional times.
  • Provides individual MCIS training to standard and on time, with 90% of the students successfully completing the course of instruction and receiving system certification.
  • Follows doctrine outlined in the TC 6-0 series, “Training the Mission Command Warfighting Function”.
  • Teach, and coach during exercise/event execution, BSWS functionality and operations to training unit personnel who will be operating simulation workstations during training exercises/events. On occasion, operate BSWS for the unit during execution of the training event.

Qualifications:

  • Must have six years’ experience in information systems development, training, or related fields, with at least three years experience developing and providing IT and end-user training on computer hardware and application software.
  • Have three years MCIS teaching experience.
  • Have previously served as a primary instructor for the same courseware on which the instructor will teach.
  • Have completed a course of study leading to a minimum of experience with Army MCIS and software systems AND completed a formal course of study in the subject(s) to be taught.
  • Be a subject matter expert who has operated the system under instruction.
  • Have experience of not less than six (6) years’ service in or support to the Army or other national defense service.
  • Be qualified to serve as a Primary Instructor on at least two Army MCIS.
  • Be qualified to serve as an Assistant Instructor on all Army MCIS.
  • Be qualified to support collective training events through coaching, teaching, mentoring MCIS to augment collective training principals or subject matter experts.
  • Be qualified to serve as a primary instructor on the JLCCTC Battle Simulation Workstation (BSWS), the Low Overhead Training Systems (LOTS) and DXTRS.
  • Must possess a SECRET clearance
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound skills in written and oral communication is a must.
  • Must be able to read and speak fluent English
