Senior Training Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Training Specialist to support the U.S. Navy’s SEA 21 programs and directorates. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, and executing training programs to enhance workforce competency in various digital tools, M365 apps, and communication processes. This position will also play a key role in improving training methods and supporting the effectiveness of Navy training standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Training Needs: Collaborate with the government and identify training needs based on projected changes to ship systems, system processes, and other organizational factors.
  • Training Program Development: Develop new training curriculums and modify existing programs based on analysis of organizational requirements.
  • Training Delivery: Deliver training using various methods such as classroom sessions, online training, demonstrations, and on-the-job training.
  • Coordination: Work with Navy organizations to coordinate training efforts, ensuring compliance with government standards and regulations.
  • Evaluate Programs: Review and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Instruct and Supervise: Train instructors and supervisors in training techniques and skills for dealing with students and effectively conducting training sessions.
  • Create Educational Materials: Develop training manuals, multimedia visual aids, and other educational resources to support instructional delivery.

Qualifications:

  • EducationBachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Experience:
  • 10+ years of professional experience in training and development, specifically in a military or defense-related setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing training programs and materials in accordance with DoD and Navy standards, including Plain Language Guidelines.
  • Proven ability to train and develop other training contractors and provide guidance to junior and mid-level contractors.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 apps and digital tools for business processes and information sharing.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to independently complete complex tasks and manage multiple projects while ensuring quality and timely execution.
