Contract Specialist – Leading Solutions HQ, Kissimmee, FL

Responsible for preparing, negotiating and recording business contracts on behalf of their employer. Responsible for managing the entire contract lifecycle for a company with focus on Government contracting.

Specific tasks include:

  • Negotiate contract agreements for products and services.
  • Assess contractor performance to identify the need for amendments of existing contracts.
  • Prepare and edit contracts between the company and potential or current clients.
  • Craft, evaluate, negotiate and execute a wide variety of different contracts covering a range of transactions.
  • Create and maintain relationships with suppliers and serve as the singular point of contact for matters concerning contracts.
  • Using existing or modified templates – update, prepare and support negotiations of Master Service Agreements, NDAs, teaming agreements, and subcontracts in support of business partnerships, vendors, subcontractors, and purchase agreements/contracts.
  • Support the renewal process for various GWAC, IDIQ, BPA schedules, task orders and single award contracts, including annual extensions and option year exercises.
  • Thoroughly review contract drafts, propose changes, and facilitate discussions for mutual agreement.
  • Escalate and resolve contract issues, coordinating discussions among involved parties.
  • Engage in direct negotiations with clients, vendors, or partners to establish favorable terms.
  • Maintain records for correspondence and documentation in relation to established contracts and those in progress.
  • Coordinate signature collection from all relevant parties involved in the contract.
  • Communicate and present information to external and internal stakeholders about all contract-related matters.
  • Monitor contract dates and set up reminders to ensure timely action on renewals or terminations.
  • Solve any contract-related problems that may arise with other parties and internally with the company itself.
  • Review contracts for legal and policy compliance, monitoring and enforcing contractual obligations.
  • Optimize contract language in the company’s best interest.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s in business administration or related degree such as business law, acquisition, or finance.
  • Must possess 3 years of proven experience as a contract specialist, manager or administrator working with federal contractors and contracts.
  • Must possess a deep understanding of federal contracting business landscape combined with an ability to adapt rapidly to new requirements and evolving company demands.
  • Possess proficiency in Government contracting or contract law.
  • Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers, and external partners.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Possess good research and analysis skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound skills in written and oral communication.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
  • Must be able to pass a Federal background check.
