We are seeking a qualified and reliable USAccess Credentialing Center Registrar to join the USDA Forest Service team in Asheville, NC. This position is critical in supporting the secure issuance, activation, and management of Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards in compliance with Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12. The Registrar will perform enrollment, card activation and updates, card inventorying, and distribution while ensuring proper scheduling and data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enrollment: Review and verify applicant identity documents to ensure compliance with HSPD-12 standards. Capture photographs and fingerprints using the Active Identity System.
- Card Activation: Issue PIV cards, verify identity documents, and process card activation using the Unattended Activation portal.
- Card Update: Assist applicants with mandatory card updates, PIN resets, and card unlocking using the Unattended Activation portal.
- Card Inventorying & Distribution: Manage the inventory of PIV cards, including destruction of expired cards. Request and distribute cards as needed and follow proper procedures for card storage and destruction.
- Appointment Scheduling: Use the GSA online scheduler to schedule, verify, and cancel appointments for applicants.
- Coordination: Work independently to manage day-to-day tasks, ensuring adherence to established timelines and standards.
Requirements must be completed once hired:
- Active USDA-issued PIV card is required.
- Completion of USAccess Registrar online training and certification.
- Certified and designated in USAccess by the USDA Department Role Administrator via the GSA MSO.
- USAccess-issued user ID and password.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail and time management.
- Must pass a background check.
